The event will be held in Carei (Nagykároly in Hungarian), a town of 20 000 inhabitants in Romania. At this event we wish to discuss the practical dimensions of liberal localism. We wish to focus on best practices, which can ensure local autonomy, could restrain nationalism in a multicultural environment. Also, it is important to share the experiences of local businessmen, academics and local politicians. We will look at how key and topical liberal issues play on the local level. We wish discuss the financial dependence and political self-fulfilment of local communities in practice, best practices of multiculturalism in Partium and Transylvania and the meaning and interpretation of liberalism on a small town level.
